Cody is a Certified Residential Appraiser, and is a member of the South Carolina Professional Appraisers Coalition, the National Association of Appraisers and Coastal Carolina Association of Realtors. Prior to working in the Real Estate Appraisal Industry, he worked in many different areas, including owning an event design business, co-owned a boutique gift shop, worked in banking, and has had several business management roles. In addition to these roles and careers, he has dedicated many years to volunteering throughout the communities in which he has lived, with a core belief in giving back. Cody is a native of Whiteville, NC, just over the state line. During his time there he served with the Columbus Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, the NC Pecan Festival, and completed the Leadership Columbus Program in 2016. He moved to Myrtle Beach in Early 2017 and since living in the Grand Strand has volunteered his time with many local organizations and non-profits. He has volunteered with Backpack Buddies/Help4Kids, Beautify Carolina Forest, Grand Strand Pride, New Directions through their Compassion through Fashion fundraiser, Habitat for Humanity, and the village group of Georgetown. Cody is a graduate of Leadership CCAR class of 2023, has served as Vice Chair and Chair of the CCAR Community Outreach Advisory Group, as Community Service Sub-group Lead on the CCAR YPN Advisory Group, on the CCAR Housing Opportunity Advisory Group, and serves on the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council. In addition he also serves on the Board of Directors for Long Bay Theatre of Myrtle Beach. Cody attended the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, with a major in Business Administration with a focus on Management and Marketing. Through the different careers and roles, he has gained extensive knowledge in putting people first and providing exceptional client experience. He first became interested in the Real Estate Appraisal industry while looking for new opportunities in the grand strand and realized the diverse opportunities within the field. What he enjoys most is the daily challenge and helping others in the industry grow in their knowledge of the real estate market. When not in the office Cody enjoys spending time with his partner Adam (our President/CEO), traveling, gardening, and enjoying our local beaches, parks and amenities.
Courtney is our Office Manager and a apprentice appraiser. She handles the day-to-day operations here at Live Oak. We are so happy to have her a part of our team. Courtney has called the Grand Strand home since 2015. Prior to moving to the Grand Strand, she lived in New Jersey on the Jersey Shore where she is from. Courtney has worked in the appraisal industry since 2021, prior to this she worked in the customer service and hospitality industry. Her prior roles taught her excellent communication and problem-solving skills which she is able to apply to her daily role here at Live Oak Appraisals. Courtney first became interested in the appraisal industry while researching careers in the real estate industry and decided the route she wanted to take was to become an appraiser. Courtney says she enjoys seeing different properties and getting to see all the different areas of Horry and Georgetown counties. When outside of the office Courtney enjoys spending time with her awesome Husband Martin, who she has been with for a total of 10 years. She also has 3 Furbabies, her dog “Silas” and 2 cats “Big and Marceline” . In addition to spending time with friends and family Courtney loves crafting and all things creative.
Adam is our CEO and President of the company. Adam is no stranger when it comes to the real estate world. He has built a successful career as a Realtor® with Century 21 Broadhurst and has been serving the Grand Strand for 5+ years. During his career Adam has completed the CCAR Leadership program in 2022 and has received many designations like SRS (Seller Representive Specialist), RSPS ( Resort and Second Home Property Specialist) and is C2EX Endorsed. When he is not working, Adam is a strong believer in giving back to the community. He currently serves on the CCAR YPN Advisory Group, CCAR Community Outreach, is the Chair of the Human Rights Commission at the City of Myrtle Beach, and is the Director of the Grand Strand Network of the Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce. He has also volunteered with New Directions, Help 4 Kids, Habitat for Humanity, Beautify Carolina Forest, The Village Group of Georgetown and many other local charities and non-profits. In his free time, Adam loves to travel, crafting, going to the beach, trying new restaurants and is a competitive swimmer!
Martin is an Apprentice Appraiser with our firm. He is a dedicated educator and chemistry enthusiast with a robust academic background, having earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a master's in arts for education from Coastal Carolina University. Martin formally taught Honors Chemistry at Carolina Forest High School. His prior roles have taught him critical thinking, problem solving and communication. Originally hailing from Northern New Jersey, Martin relocated to the Myrtle Beach area with his wife, Courtney, in 2015, where they have since made their home.
One of Martin’s favorite past times is spending time in the kitchen, He is always trying new recipes and out of the box cooking techniques. An animal lover at heart, Martin enjoys the company of his three furbabies: Silas, a black lab mix, and two cats named Marceline and Big C. In his free time, he immerses himself in strategic pursuits such as playing chess, building computers, and indulging in video games. He and his wife also have a passion for the imaginative world of Dungeons and Dragons, where they often engage in adventures with friends and family.
